The Scent of Adventure

This was really one of my first "squeeze the Vienna juice" adventures, and I just have to share.
So it was the second or third day in... and we wanted to find a cool spot for lunch. There had been some rumors about a neat place above a theater not too far away from the center. (PS the center is a palace. Have I mentioned that?? More on that later...) So, being the adventurous souls we are, we went to find this mysterious lunch spot. We got to the theater... and all the doors were locked. Things didn't look too promising. With our limited German we asked a stranger if they knew anything about it, and were told to go around to the back of the building. This was only slightly suspicious... but again, we're on an adventure. So we went to check it out. At the back of the building there is a single door unlocked. No markings, no signs... nothin'. But there's a man sitting behind a bullet proof window in an office that looks like it should be on CSI. Sketchy... but still, we carried on. We asked the man if there was anywhere to eat in this building, and he just smiled and pointed up. So we hoped we were on the right trail. We then had to sign in and get little VIP passes (no really, they were on a lanyard and everything). The man then showed us to a service elevator and told us to go to the 6th floor. Things were starting to feel even more unsure when we got to the 6th floor and found ourselves in the backstage hallways of this theatre. Again, no signs, just white walls and tile. Now I'm starting to get nervous. What the HECK did we get ourselves into now?? After a rather long treck down these back hallways, we found it! The secret food spot of Vienna. It doesn't look like much from the inside... but let me tell you... the view is absolutely incredible. All of the walls are made of glass, so you find yourself in this very bright room over looking the entire first district of Vienna. Plus, the food was Amazing, and cheap!! I don't know how this spot hasn't been discovered by more people. I mean... it's not like you have to go up a service elevator to get there... oh wait...
But anyway, the moral of the story is this. Follow your nose, and the scent of adventure and Wienerschnitzel will always lead you to good places!!
