German Intensive

Hokay! Next. So For the next three weeks I am only taking one class... the dreaded German Intensive. It's 3 hours of German every day of the week. I am in the Elementary 1 class (or the beginning beginning beginning class). My Professor's name is Frau Sommesburger. Oh yes. She is a hardcore older Austrian woman that completly fits her name. She speaks to us mostly in German, and only translates when she can no longer stand the "deer-in-the-headlights" look from all of us. Then when we give her panicky, stumbling answers she just laughs a little... and then helps us along. It's a little bit of a sink-or-swim situation at the moment. Way way WAY too much information going in my head, when I have a million other things that I am experiencing. Sensory overload!!!
Let's see though.... I can now introduce myself and those around me. I can order at restaurants and ask a lot of helpful things from hotel clerks. I can get and give directions. I can count and say my ABCs (Oh yeah!). And lots more! All in a very short period of time. It's amazing how much of a language you can pick up when you're surrounded by it. I'm still in the very beginning of the basics of the language, but at least now I can survive most situations!
